Ahi Tuna Tacos

Ahi Tuna Tacos

Every summer we have an annual Mexican night towards the end of August and we always have so much fun! We make our classic margarita recipe, a variety of dips, and a variety of tacos!

This year we decided to try a new taco. We have been loving the fresh ahi tuna we have been getting from our local grocery store, so we decided to try an ahi tuna taco. It was so delicious, and it is safe to say we will be continuing to make this taco for our future Mexican nights! For our dips we made a cheesy corn dip and a layered taco dip! Both came out so good. We had too much fun preparing this dinner and eating it! The margaritas were also so summery and so much fun. Because honestly, when aren’t margaritas fun?!

What are your favorite summer time traditions?!

Ingredients:

  • Two 8 oz tuna steaks

  • 2 tbsp of olive oil

  • 2 tbsp of soy sauce

  • Black pepper

  • 8 flour tortillas

  • 1 avocado; diced

  • 1 cup of shredded lettuce

  • 4 oz of sour cream

  • 1 ½ tbsp of sriracha sauce

Directions:

  1. Marinate the tuna steaks for approximately 1 hour in 1 tbsp of olive oil, soy sauce, and black pepper turning them frequently

  2. Char the tortillas over direct flame on a stove or a grill or in a frying pan over an electric stove; set aside

  3. Heat the remaining tbsp of olive oil in a medium nonstick skillet; cook the tuna 1 ½ minutes per side for rare; slice the tuna in ¼ inch thick slices

  4. To make the sriracha sauce combine sriracha, sour cream, salt, and pepper

  5. Top each tortilla with tuna, shredded lettuce, avocado, and drizzle with the sriracha sauce
