Ahi Tuna Poke with Mango Salsa
Ahi Tuna Poke with Mango Salsa. Ok ok ok don’t judge us on the mango salsa yet again…BUT we loved last weeks salmon poke so much we decided to do a tuna poke this week. And the mango salsa is just necessary because it’s too good and I think everyone knows by now that I am obsessed. Served alongside a little sriracha Mayo…it’s like spicy tuna but better !! Happy last July Saturday guys !!
Ok guys so it’s the big day I told you about yesterday and I am super excited !! We have tons of fun foods and drinks on the menu for tonight…oh AND some pretty damn good wines. And it is an absolutely beautiful day today. My dad has even claimed it to be the nicest day of the summer so far. And it's Saturday and there is nothing better than July summer Saturday’s even though today is the last day of July :((
Anyway this morning, we went to the farmers market this morning with my uncle and aunt and got some really amazing fish. We got fluke which we are going to put on the grill. Then we got tuna and salmon. The tuna is the star of this blog post obviously AND it is always so delicious. We made the salmon poke again as well because we loved it so much last week. We also got shrimp and 100 littlenecks. We’re going to grill some of the clams for appetizer and make clams and spaghetti with the rest. Finally for cocktails were having margs and sangria. And for dessert I made a Coconut Cream Pie.
The beach was absolutely gorgeous today. It was super hard to leave but when we got home we had sangria and beers on the deck before our showers. And now we are ready for a super fun night and ALL this delicious food !!
I am super happy that my uncle and aunt visited this weekend. We are having such a fun time, and tonight is only going to make it even better. So cheers to family gatherings !! They are honestly some of my favorite nights.
And just a liiiittle bit about my new obsession…this poke and mango salsa, before I let you all go. The tuna is marinated in a soy sauce, mirin, sesame oil, and citrus mixture. Then we plated it on top of my classic mango and avocado salsa…which by the way makes just about any seafood dish taste and look 10X better. Finally we finished it off with some sliced scallions and sesame seeds. Serve alongside a spicy mayo…AMAZING.
Well now it’s time for a marg and some amazing wines !! Cheers and happy Saturday you guys !!
