Grilled Ahi Tuna with Cucumber Salad
Grilled Ahi Tuna with Cucumber Salad. So we had wayyyy too much food last night so we saved a piece of ahi tuna and decided to have it again tonight because it’s just too good. Tonight’s tuna recipe is a simple sesame crusted ahi tuna seared on the grill and paired with a cucumber and avocado salad. Served alongside a spicy sriracha Mayo and of course a little bit of sunday rosé wine…happy first day of august you guys !!
So we went a liiiiittle over board at the farmers market yesterday…ok maybe a lot over board….and bought way more food than we could eat. We had so much fish, we decided we would save one of our pieces of tuna for tonight. And I am so happy that we did because that means more tuna dinners for me. And Oliver, our little spoiled kitty, is also pretty happy about getting more tuna today too.
So since we did a sweet salsa and poke tuna yesterday, we decided we would go with a seared tuna tonight and pair it with a cucumber and avocado salad. Seared tuna is simple, but do it up right with all the right pairings and it’s no longer simple at all.
The tuna is marinated in soy sauce and crusted in sesame seeds then grilled for the perfect sear. The cucumbers and avocado are marinated in soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and sesame seeds. Then the key is having all that spicy mayo for dipping. I am a BIG sauce girl, so the spicy mayo super necessary for me. And a little bit of wine is also necessary ;)) because after all it is Sunday !! Cheers !!
