Fried Green Tomatoes with Spicy Aioli
Summers in Jersey call for Jersey Tomatoes all the time! You simply cannot beat a Jersey tomato. These fried green tomatoes are a perfect side dish for just about any summer meal! This was our first time making fried green tomatoes and we were more than happy with how they turned out!
With summer wrapping up quickly, we have got to make the most of the Jersey vegetables and fruit! This recipe was a perfect way to do so! They were so delicious with the spicy aioli as well!

Ingredients:
3 green tomatoes; cut into ¼ inch rings
Salt and pepper
1 cup of flour
2 eggs
2 tbsp of milk
2 cups of Panko breadcrumbs
Cayenne pepper
Paprika
2 tbsp of mayonnaise
2 tsp of sweet pickle relish
1 tsp of hot sauce
Directions:
Season both sides of the tomatoes with salt and pepper
Place the flour in a shallow dish; beat the eggs and milk in a separate shallow dish
In another shallow dish mix the breadcrumbs with cayenne and paprika to your liking
Heat a large nonstick skillet with canola oil (approximately 1 cup); dredge the tomatoes through the flour, then the eggs, then the breadcrumbs; add to the hot oil and fry until browned on each side approximately 2 - 3 minutes per side
Drain on paper towels and serve with spicy aioli
To make the aioli combine the mayonnaise, relish, and hot sauce
