Baked Salmon with Potlatch Seasoning

Baked Salmon with Potlatch Seasoning

Growing up, salmon has always been one of my favorite types of fish. I will pretty much eat it whether it is prepared raw, smoked, baked, grilled, you name it. However, this recipe is one of our classic, go-to salmon dishes and it is super simple to make. We must give William Sonoma a big thanks for this recipe because the great flavor comes from their Potlatch Seasoning!

For this recipe, we marinate our salmon in a mixture of olive oil and the Potlatch seasoning for about 1 hour before baking it. Then we make a sauce for the salmon which includes the Potlatch seasoning and some sour cream. You can see why this recipe is so simple, but it is a must try. So, we recommend you get to your nearest William Sonoma or order it off their website so you can enjoy this easy and yummy salmon recipe!

We used Copper River Salmon since it is in season, so hurry and try it before Copper River Salmon goes out of the grocery stores! The season for it is coming to an end! It really is the best salmon I have ever tasted, and it is such a bright shade of orange!

a.     Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ pounds of salmon

  • ¼ cup of olive oil

  • 1 tbsp + 1 separate tsp of potlatch seasoning from William Sonoma

  • 1 cup of sour cream

b.     Directions:

  1. Place the olive oil in a small bowl and mix it together with the potlatch seasoning

  2. Place the salmon on a heavy cookie sheet covered with parchment paper; drizzle the oil and seasoning over the salmon until it is well coat and marinate it for 1 hour before baking, continuing to drizzle the flavored oil over top of it

  3. Meanwhile, in a small bowl mix the sour cream and 1 tsp of potlatch and set aside in the fridge; this will be the sauce for the cooked salmon

  4. Pre-heat the oven to 275 degrees; bake the salmon for 30-40 minutes then serve with the sauce alongside
