Ahi Tuna Poke with Mango Avocado Salsa

Ahi Tuna Poke with Mango Avocado Salsa

Ahi Tuna Poke with Mango Avocado Salsa. Although it doesn’t feel like it with todays weather summer is right around the corner. And you guys know I loveeee my mango avocado salsa in the summer especially paired with a citrusy ahi tuna poke. And of course alllll that spicy mayo sauce for dipping. The most refreshing and tropical dish that’s prefect with a summery rum and orange juice cocktail !! Happy Friday guys !!

My all time favorite summer dish last year was super fresh ahi tuna poke. I love the combo of sweet and savory in this dish. I love how fresh the tuna always is. And I LOVE mango avocado salsa as you guys probably know by now. Anyway it’s been a while since I had this poke dish because its definitely harder to find tuna that is super fresh when it’s winter.

Recently we have been finding the freshest ahi tuna at our local Wegmans. We have been missing it so much that we have been buying it almost every week and making something different with it each time. But I have missed this poke dish so much that I have made it quite a few times in the last couple weeks.

The tuna is marinated in soy sauce, mirin, lemon juice, orange juice, and sesame oil. Keep it simple because the tuna is so good and fresh on its own. The salsa is a mixture of mango, avocado, cucumbers, jalapeños, scallions, lime juice, and orange juice. Seasoned with a little salt and pepper…sooo easy….sooo good. Then of course you know I always need a sauce. So a spicy mayo is always perfect with this dish.

Its mothers day weekend and the weather is honestly…well…horrible. It’s not just rainy, but it’s also cold. And the dreary weather is really bringing down the vibes. We were supposed to be celebrating at the beach but with this weather we decided not to. So instead, were lightening the mood and wishing it was summer with one of our favorite summer dishes to kick off Friday night. Paired with a tropical rum and orange juice cocktail to match the tropical vibes of this dish…happy kick off the mothers day weekend guys !!
