Asian Style Honey Chili Glazed Shrimp

Asian Style Honey Chili Glazed Shrimp. If you’re in need of an easy weeknight night dinner or even a fun appetizer, this fun and colorful shrimp is it. It’s super saucy, Asian inspired, a little spicy, and paired with a citrus butter for dipping. It’s got a little bit of a spicy kick too with the Fresno peppers because you always need a little heat!

So it’s Wednesday and the middle of the week is calling for an easy dinner. Enter, these delicious asian inspired jumbo shrimp. We have been looking for new shrimp recipes to try aside from just plain old olive oil, salt, and pepper. An Asian themed shrimp dish was perfect.

Who doesn’t love a good honey, soy sauce, sweet chili glaze paired with a citrusy butter?! I mean the flavors in this shrimp are powerful to say the least. There is definitely nothing boring about it. And it looks super perfect with all those vibrant colors.

Bonus?! It also makes for a perfect weekend appetizer. So whether you need an easy weeknight dinner or a fun weekend starter, you need to try this shrimp! It is good basically any time, anywhere!


Ingredient

  • 1 pound jumbo shrimp; peeled and deveined

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

  • 3 tablespoons honey

  • 2 tablespoons Thai style red chili sauce

  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

  • juice 1 lime

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 1/3 cup orange juice

  • 1 lemon juiced

  • 2 fresno peppers; sliced

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • sesame seeds and scallions for topping

Directions

  1. In a large pan or ziplock bag, combine the soy sauce, honey, chili sauce, sesame oil, and lime juice. Add the shrimp and toss to coat. Marinate for 1 - 2 hours.

  2. To make the citrus butter, heat butter, orange juice, and lemon juice over low heat until butter is melted. Remove from heat and stir in the sliced peppers.

  3. Heat a cast iron skillet until hot, add the olive oil. When the oil is hot, add the shrimp. Cook two minutes per side until cooked through. Transfer the shrimp to a platter, set aside. Add the remaining sauce to the skillet, cook until thickened stirring constantly. Pour the sauce over the shrimp. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and scallions
