Pasta alla Vodka

Pasta alla Vodka

Pasta alla Vodka. The ultimate sunday sauce that is everyone’s favorite. It’s almost impossible not to love a simple classic vodka sauce. With this super fun pasta…just the best !!

Simply put pasta alla vodka is one of the best Italian dishes of all time. I could eat this any time, anywhere. But it just seems perfect on a Sunday night with a glass of wine. And this has definitely been one of our classic Sunday dinners for quite some time. Whether it’s summer, winter, spring, or fall, this dish is perfect all year.

We make pasta alla vodka so often that sometimes we like to get creative with it and add some toppings. I like to get creative for the photos, but tonight we are keeping it totally simply. This is just plain old, delicious pasta alla vodka. No toppings. Nothing fancy. Just the good stuff. It’s so creamy and saucy and just absolutely delicious.

The ultimate Sunday comfort food when you have the scaries. And today I definitely have the scaries. But at least next weekend is Memorial Day, it’s a long weekend, and it’s my birthday weekend ;))) so I just have to get through this week of work before we are getting super festive and into the celebrations starting Thursday night. We have so many good eats coming your way for the holiday weekend, so definitely be ready !!

  • 1/4 cup butter

  • 2/3 cup vodka

  • 1 pint homemade or store-bought marinara sauce

  • 1/2 pint heavy cream

  • salt and pepper

  • 1 pound pasta

Directions

  1. In a medium skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Pour in the vodka, increase the heat to high. Ignite the vodka to burn off the alcohol.

  2. When the flames die down, add the marinara sauce and cook for 3 minutes. Add the heavy cream, salt, and pepper. Simmer for another 5 - 8 minutes. Set aside

  3. Cook the pasta and drain. Add the pasta to skillet with the vodka sauce, tossing to combine.
