Creamy Crab & Asparagus Fettuccine

Creamy Crab & Asparagus Fettuccine. Need pasta ideas for your Christmas Eve Seven Fishes Celebration?! We’ve got you covered with this creamy colossal lump crab fettuccine. First of all, it’s got colossal crab meat which honestly calls for a celebration itself. The asparagus pairs perfectly with the crab. And finally the creamy sauce is loaded with creme fraiche, lemon, basil, and chives. It’s decadent and fancy which makes it the perfect addition to your seven fishes feast on Christmas Eve!

Every good seven fishes feast needs a fancy pasta dish. This one is certainly decadent enough to make the cut! It’s creamy and delicious. It’s loaded with colossal lump crab meat and asparagus. And let’s be honest, it’s got Christmas Eve written ALL over it.

We always do a super rich pasta dish for the seven fishes feast on Christmas Eve. Whether it be a Creamy Lobster Sauce, Crabs and Spaghetti with Lump Crab Meat, or this! We have tons of ideas, so if this isn’t the one for your menu, stay tuned for more ideas! Although, we think you'll really like this one ;) !!


Ingredients:

  • 4 tablespoons butter

  • 1 garlic clove; minced

  • 1 bunch of asparagus; chopped into 2 inch pieces

  • salt and pepper

  • 3/4 cups white wine

  • 1 - 2 cups chicken broth

  • 8 ounces creme fraiche

  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives

  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil; chopped

  • zest from 1 lemon

  • 1 pound colossal lump crab meat

Directions:

  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter. Add the garlic and asparagus. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Add the wine and let it evaporate. Add one cup of chicken stock. Cook for 3 - 5 minutes. Add creme fraiche, chives, and lemon zest. Continue cooking until thickened.

  2. Meanwhile cook the pasta. Add the pasta, the basil, and the crab meat to the skillet. Cook for 3 - 5 minutes until combined and heated through.

  3. Top with additional chives and basil to serve.
