Spicy Sriracha Fried Chicken

Spicy Sriracha Fried Chicken with BBQ Aioli. This meal is super simple but in honor of my brothers 21st birthday today, we had to make his favorite! Nothing like a crispy spicy chicken cutlet and a cold keg beer to celebrate a 21st birthday! It’s about as simple as it gets but it’s delicious so everyone loves it! Happy birthday, cheers to 21 !!

Birthday celebrations always call for favorite foods! While I tend to choose a more decadent meal on my birthday, there is absolutely nothing wrong with a simple fried chicken dish for a favorite meal!

And 21 is an extra special birthday. So not only are we breaking out all the favorite foods, we’ve got all the cocktails covered as well! With a spicy fried chicken you can never go wrong with a beer, and after all beer is my brothers favorite!

The birthday celebrations are just beginning with this spicy chicken and BBQ Aioli! The chicken brings the heat and the aioli is the perfect cool down! So cheers to the celebrations still to come!


Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 pounds chicken cutlets; thinly sliced

  • 2 eggs; beaten

  • 2 tablespoons buffalo sauce or sriracha sauce

  • salt and pepper

  • 2 cups fresh breadcrumbs

  • canola oil for frying

  • 1/4 cup barbecue sauce

  • 2 cups sour cream

Directions:

  1. Salt and pepper the chicken breast. Add the sriracha sauce to the beaten eggs. Dip the chicken pieces in the egg and sriracha mixture. Coat with breadcrumbs. Place on a tray.

  2. Meanwhile, in a large deep skillet, heat 1 to 2 cups of canola oil until very hot. Fry the chicken on each side until golden. Drain on paper towels.

  3. Mix the barbecue sauce and sour cream. Serve the chicken with the BBQ Aioli and other favorite sauces.
